Forest School First Aid is a 2-day (16-hour) outdoor first aid course, and certificates are valid for three years

The first day of training covers basic first aid skills, and the second moves into incident management. Course content is designed for dealing with children from 1 year of age upwards and includes young and adult helpers’ potential illnesses and injuries.

Courses for Individuals

We are increasing the number of first aid courses suitable for forest school practitioners. Individual Forest School practitioners can attend our standard 16-hour Outdoor First Aid courses.

It is easy for the individual to book these open Outdoor courses, which cover the requirements of a forest school practitioner. Let us know when you book that you require your qualification as a Forest School Practitioner.

  • Vital signs
  • Accident procedure
  • Recognition and treatment of an unconscious casualty
  • Recognition and treatment of seizures
  • Recognition and treatment of Cardiac Arrest (Adult CPR)
  • Recognition and treatment of Drowning / Child CPR / Infant CPR
  • Recognition and treatment of choking casualties
  • Recognition and treatment of bleeding injuries
  • Recognition and treatment of burns and scalds
  • Recognition and treatment of potential fractures to arms and lower legs
  • Recognition and treatment of soft tissue injuries
  • Recognition and treatment of head injuries (brain injuries – concussion, compression)
  • Recognition and treatment of neck injuries
  • Recognition and treatment of injuries to the torso (chest, stomach, pelvis and thigh)
  • Practical incidents to reinforce learning
  • Recognition and treatment of common medical emergencies (Asthma, diabetes, anaphylaxis, bites, stings)
  • Recognition and treatment of core heating and cooling (hyper and hypothermia)
