This course meets Ofsted first aid requirements for registered childminders and the requirements for first aid for nannies under the Department for Children, Schools and Families Approved Carers Scheme. This course meets the requirements of the
Government guidelines for child carers state that first-aid training must cater for practitioners caring for children in the absence of their parents, be a minimum of 12 hours, cover what to include ina first-aid kit for babies and children, demonstrate resuscitation techniques using models of babies and children, and give practitioners a chance to practice on models of each age group and include how to record accidents and incidents appropriately.
The course is useful to those who take children away from the school or the nursery setting, on walks to the park or to catch a bus to activities. The group leader would benefit greatly from taking part in one of our courses. For a number of organisations (Forest Schools) we run the Outdoor First Aid course and can adapt it to bring in Paediatric issues. Also suitable for Pre-school staff / Nursery Staff / Play workers/ Children centre staff / Teachers / LSA's & MTA's / Holiday Campworkers / Parent & Toddler group volunteers / Childminders & Nannies /Foster carers / Au pairs / Mother's helps / Babysitters / Community workers /Youth Workers / Parents, Grandparents, Aunts & Uncles.
