Preparing To Teach In the Lifelong Learning Sector (PTLLS) - 5 days + self directed studyFrom September 2010 a PTLLS qualification is the minimum threshold requirement for those without formal adult education qualifications to deliver accredited courses in the adult education sector. It will be necessary for all involved in the adult education sector delivering courses on the National Qualifications Framework (NQF) and its replacement the Qualifications Credit Framework (QCF). This award requires 60 hours of tuition (face-to-face and assignments)and local Colleges traditionally deliver the course as a series of evening classes. However we intend to run an intensive PTLLS course over a 5-day week (30 hours from Monday to Friday) supported by pre and post course work and assignments that take another 30 hours.
The PTTLS is a generic award for all sectors, however we will ensure
that its content is tailored to the delivery of first aid training. From October 2009 the Academy will be setting a series of courses dates for individuals and will also be running courses for groups of clients at their convenience.
