Travel to training venues will be an integral part of the post. Job purpose: To deliver first aid training courses on behalf of First Aid Academy, supports specialist training courses and represent the organisation at events and conferences. Person Specification Person profile - First Aid Trainer and Assessor Personality: Personable, professional, positive trainer with a focus on quality course delivery and administration. A natural communicator who critically assesses own performance. Mature, credible, and comfortable in dealing with a wide range of clients from college students to mature experienced adults. Reliable, punctual, and empathic, able to see things from the other person's point of view. Well presented and businesslike. Sufficiently mobile and flexible to travel. Keen to support the development of other trainers. Personal Situation: Must be mature and able to spend two or three nights away per month. Able to commute reliably to training venues and office base. Able to work extended hours on occasions when required. Must have clean or near clean driving licence. Specific Job Skills: Competent and experienced trainer of practical courses. ITC First Aid trainer able to deliver EFAW/EFA and OFA courses, preferably SFA, FAW, PFA also. Able to communicate to a wide range of client groups. Knowledge of a range of training and assessment methods. Understand the importance of the trainer as the public side of the Academy and how to use this role to support the development of the company. Appreciates need for high quality standards and consistency in terms of training delivery and course administration. Computer skills: Must be adept in use of MS Office 2000 or later, particularly Excel and Word, and Internet and email. Experience of Mac systems would be an advantage. Literacy and Numeracy: Must be competent at use of computers and completing course administration documentation. Ability to support others: Though internal staff management is not part of the job, responsibility for and opportunity to support the development of Assistant Trainers is an integral part of this post. Some people-management skills, experience and natural ability will be useful. |
