Motorist/Motorcyclists First Aid

Motorcyclists First Aid

Motorcyclists first aid is ideal for bikers, pillion passengers and event marshals.  Heavy leathers, armour and helmets means that delivering essential lifesaving first aid to bikers involves many additional considerations.

Designed by motorcyclists and typically delivered by two experienced trainers at least one of whom rides a bike. This course takes you through those difficult decisions not covered by a standard basic first aid course, including when and how to remove a casualties' helmet. No previous first aid experience is required to attend this intensive course.
Course features

Dealing with incidents safely
A systematic approach to incident management
Collapse - causes and treatment
Accident procedure
External and internal bleeding
Shock
Resuscitation procedures
Choking
Incident management scenarios
Spinal management
Helmet removal – when and how
Simulated incidents – using your own bike gear
Participants are asked to bring their own motorcycle gear with them as the course is centred around practical scenarios.

Courses can be delivered at your venue. Normally these courses are run for specialist groups.

Motorist First Aid

This motorist first aid course covers essential first aid actions for all road users whether they are pedestrians, cyclists, car or large vehicle drivers.  Training prepares participants to manage road traffic incidents safely until emergency medical help arrives and make real first aid decisions in the context of Britain's busy roads.

In many other European countries everyone who holds a driving licence must also hold a valid first aid qualification.  This is not the case in the UK where road accidents kill around 3,200 people each year.  There is no doubt that many unnecessary road deaths every year could be avoided if those who were first on the scene had basic life saving first aid skills.
No previous first aid experience is required to attend this 6 hour course.
