This course is a lifesaver course, giving participants essential lifesaving emergency techniques. The 6-hour course covers dealing with incidents, calling for help, treatment of the unconscious casualty, CPR techniques, dealing with bleeding, contents of a first aid kit and medical emergencies.
The Emergency First Aid at Work course was introduced by the HSE in 2009. First Aid Academy was been involved with the development of this training course in 2009. The HSE has developed this training course to replace the longer First Aid at Work course in low hazard environments.

Course accreditation
First Aid Academy is approved to run HSE first aid training courses under FAAMS Centre Number 1670/96. We can also deliver these courses through the Awarding Organisation, ITC.
In Scotland these courses are accredited by the SQA (Scottish Qualifications Authority) Qualification number R040 04
In England Wales and NI these courses are accredited by OfQual and listed on the QCF (Qualification Credit Framework).
How often do I need to be reassessed to keep my training valid?
With the new Emergency First Aid at Work qualification there is a requirement to be retrained every 3 years. Additionally the Health and Safety Executive 'highly recommend' that first aiders undergo an annual 3-hour refresher course.
