outdoor leg damageThis remote first aid course is suitable for School Journey Leader, Duke of Edinburgh Leader/Coordinator and MIDAS minibus driver.

Course is ideal for ecologists and fieldworkers. The Academy runs these courses for a number of ecological consultancies and the Institute for Ecology and Environmental Management (IEEM).  

Accreditation:The ITC Certificate in Outdoor First Aid (R084 04) is a 16 hour course approved by the Scottish Qualification Authority.

This course is recognised THROUGHOUT THE UK and is the only Outdoor First Aid qualification that is externally regulated and meets the standards to appear upon a national qualifications framework;

Unit 1 Emergency First Aid Skills (U081 04): Leads to an Emergency First Aid at Work (HSE) qualification

Unit 2 First Aid for Outdoor Incident Management (U422 04):  Leads to the ITC Certificate in Outdoor First Aid qualification. 

For employers who would like both an HSE qualification (EFAW) and the Outdoor First Aid qualification, two certificates can be provided for course participants. An additional fee of £10 per candidate is required.

Course suitable for MLTA Awards. Summer and Winter ML, BELA, WGL, SPA, IML, MIA, MIC.

First Aid Academy run approved ITC Forest School First Aid courses and are members of the National Register of Forest School First Aid trainers. Individuals requiring first aid training can take part in one of our Outdoor courses listed below. Many organisations deliver first aid courses that provide training meeting some of the needs of Forest School practitioners, however ITC is the only Awarding Organisation (approved by HSE, OfQual & SQA) that has piloted and developed tailored training supported by the main Forest School training organisation in England.

Courses can be delivered at your venue.

Activity First Aid HE colleges can receive funding for Activity First Aid courses, these are ideal for students on Sports, Recreation Management or Uniformed/Public Services courses.

Aquatic First Aid BCU coaches require a first aid qualification alongside their coaching award. As approved HSE course providers First Aid Academy can run an aquatic first aid course for your club or join one of our ITC courses approved by the BCU.

First Aid Academy runs expedition first aid courses for those travelling abroad as GAP students or expedition leaders. The outdoor first aid course is delivered to expedition leaders of a number of trekking and holiday companies, these include Exodus, KE Adventure Travel, Mountain Kingdoms, HF Holidays, The Ramblers Association, Schools Worldwide and Walks Worldwide.  

The Academy is listed by the Royal Geographical Society  as recognised providers of Outdoor First Aid training.

Partnership with the Institute for Ecology and Environmental Management
First Aid Academy is now running Outdoor First Aid courses for IEEM. IEEM are the professional body that represents and supports ecologists and environmental managers in the UK and Ireland. It provides a variety of services to develop competency and standards in ecology and environmental management. We are running two courses with IEEM in 2011. Funding for Ministry of Defence staff

Venues include Preston, Lancaster, Skipton, Bolton, Morecambe, Burnley, Blackpool, Blackburn and Manchester. The Academy also has training venues across Yorkshire and the North East (Durham, Darlington, Middlesbrough, Newcastle and Gateshead).We work with MBI on our Outdoor Courses.
