The First Aid Academy aims provide to provide a professional, innovative and friendly service to all its customers and clients. First Aid Academy is approved to run HSE first aid training courses under approval centre number FAAMS 1670/96. Our course certification is also linked to ITC First Aid Ltd who hold Awarding Body status through the Quality and Curriculum Authority (QCA).

Cory has long been a practical hands-on first aider, working in the outdoors with groups at home and on overseas expeditions. Cory was initially a trainer with British Red Cross and latterly ITC First Aid Ltd. Cory also runs Cory Jones Associates (www.cory-jones.com).
Cory has a background as a trainer and is a qualified teacher (QTS), he runs ‘Training the First Aid Trainer' courses.
Cory is an International Mountain Leader (IML) and an Accredited Practitioner of the Institute of Outdoor Learning (APIOL). He is a member of the Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management, Institute for Learning, and the Chartered Institute of Educational Assessors. To see Cory's CV click here.
Cory runs Cory Jones Associates who are specialists in environmental consultancy, environmental skills training and running expeditions and leader training.

caroleCarole Doud - First Aid Academy Director, Administration & Finance.  Carole comes from a financial services background having worked within the banking, pensions and collective investments sectors and is a member of the Securities Institute.  She has extensive administration and finance experience having worked for several large organisations.  Having undertaken a variety of roles including Customers Services and Relationship Management, Reconciliations Manager, Compliance Monitoring and Internal Audit, she has left her previous role as Quality Assurance Manager to join the First Aid Academy team.   

Associate Trainers - Our professional Trainers are monitored and supervised by a national registration scheme, undergo regular updates and are aware of current best practice throughout the world as well as following UK and European guidelines. All our trainers are fully CRB checked. 

 

jen pughJennifer Pugh Jennifer has always regarded first aid as an essential life skill, not just when she is on expeditions but in everyday life.Her introduction to first aid came in 1996 in the form of battle field first aid when she trained in the Bristol University Officers' Training Corps. She has been improving her skills ever since and 2006 trained with ITC to become a qualified first aid instructor. She joined forces with Charles Holmes in 2007 to found React First delivering top quality first aid training across the UK

 
ian mooreIan Moore Ian is a highly experienced first aid instructor, currently based in Hartlepool he regularly travels throughout the UK to deliver training. He specialises in a range of courses including First Aid at Work, Outdoor, Advanced, Expedition, Paediatric and Sports First Aid. We are fortunate to be able to harness Ian's skills to deliver courses on their behalf as part of the ITC network of trainers.

Jason Day Jason is an ex-Geography Head of Department and has left schools to develop his passion for the outdoors and first aid training. He has become keen on development education and uses these skills to get the best from his training and our clients. Jason is an experienced climber and expeditioner who brings invaluable experience and knowledge to our Associate trainer team (Northern Lights Training)

john roberts. jpegJohn Roberts John is an International Mountain Leader and an active member of his local Mountain Rescue Team, serving as its First Aid Officer for the last 3 years. John is also Managing Director of Adventure Awards Ltd. He is a welcome and experience members of our team (Addventure)

 

leanneLeanne Warbrick Leanne is a qualified nursery nurse and started running her child minder business in 1997. For the last 10 years she has been a senior nursery nurse in a large Childrens Centre. Leanne is a welcome addition to our trainer team because of her Paediatric background and specialism. She also runs a training company called First Aid For All.

mark harrison picMark Harrison After six years with the Ambulance Service, Mark has become a full time first aid trainer. With a combined experience of being a BCU Level 4coach, BHPA Club pilot, paraglider and qualified teacher, Mark is an accomplished and welcome addition to our associate team (www.northstarfirstaid.com)

With 20 years of training experience she has taught in a variety of environments from schools and colleges to prisons. Recently she has been involved in teacher training at a Further Education colleges and worked with Cumbria Constabulary to develop training packages in legal and technical areas, specialising in First Aid for police officers and staff. Paul Ross Paul has done various things in his career including Armed Forces Outdoor Instructing, leading youth groups Duke of Edinburgh training and assessing. He has seen a few things go wrong where a good bit of common sense, first aid knowledge and experience would have come in handy. Like all good teachers, coaches and trainers he understands the value of allowing first aid trainees to experience practical training. This is why he has joined our team

Ddom hallom Hall Dom has worked as a first aid trainer with a wide range of groups from across corporate, educational and volunteer sectors.  He specialises in working in remote areas and runs his own company Fieldskills (www.fieldskills.com) providing logistical and training support for overseas expeditions 


martin-akhurstMartin Akhurst has more than 15 years of training experience. He has been an active member of the Mountain Rescue service in the UK and was also the technical safety officer for an adventurous training company. As well as providing first aid training, Martin is an international expedition and logistics specialist having led expeditions to many remote areas of the globe. Martin and his associates also provide logistical expertise to organisations such as the United Nations. (Cam First Aid)

caraCara Allison Cara is a qualified teacher with 25 years experience of training both adults and young people.  She is a keen mountain walker and caver and has led expeditions to SE Asia, Africa, Alaska and Central America.  She thus appreciates the need to have first aid skills in remote environments as well as everyday life and the work place.  She particularly likes delivering ITC first aid courses because of their hands on and practical nature.

We are members of; Association of First Aiders, Federation of Small Businesses, Lancaster Chamber of Commerce, North and Western Lancashire Chamber of Commerce .
